Boise Travelodge
I was today years old when I found out about the Boise Travelodge. Sometimes this job gives me some sort of FOMO. Like I'm afraid I already missed out? FIAMO? Or Is that just regret? As if I needed something else to be anxious about... But seriously, never have I ever had the Torch Lounge’s famous finger steaks or had the pleasure of sleepwalking like this bear at the Travelodge in downtown Boise... Enough about me, the Boise Travelodge was where The Modern is now on Grove Street.
Ok, back to me. Fortunately/unfortunately I don’t have a lot of personal hotel/motel experiences here in Boise, because you know I live here. Remember when anyone who was anyone had their birthday party at the Holidome Holiday Inn by the airport? I wasn’t anyone but I did get invited a few times. My Grandma and Grandpa Knopp used to stay at a motel by St. Al’s when they’d visit from Burley, but they never let me hang out there... I think it’s a parking lot now. I don’t think those two things are related, I’m just really reaching here... Oh, and I spent a few magical nights at the Anniversary Inn. So basically, I’m a Boise travel expert.
“What’s the difference between a motel and a hotel?”
I’m glad you asked. A hotel is usually a large, enclosed building with hundreds of rooms across multiple floors, while a motel has one or two floors with outdoor room entrances.
You’re welcome.
