The Boise Cruise
The only experience I have with the cruise would be around 1998 riding around in my friend’s parent’s Ford Taurus... So as I often do, I turn to the internet to help get my creative juices flowing and to find some roughly accurate historical facts to sprinkle into my nonsense ramblings. My favorite source is Reddit. I like the peoples’ style there, very honest and all opinions are presented as facts and should be treated as such.
There is recent chatter about Boise's Cruise there, indicating that the Cruise is alive and well, maybe just alive. Mostly noise complaints... Looks like those who were once cruising the street in their parent’s cars, blaring Limp Bizkit, looking for booze and girls gone wild, are now the bougie adults trying to enjoy their patio dining and cocktails. Or those on a Tinder date trying to seal the deal but can’t even get a word in over the modified mufflers.
Are you still waiting for the roughly accurate historical facts? I don’t think I’m gonna go there. I tend to die a little inside when I have to read about anything to do with cars, dates, noise ordinances... My husband has to enjoy the Fast and Furious movies without me, I just can’t. I’m hoping you are on the other end of this, reliving your “cruise days” in your mind with warm nostalgic fondness. Even if you are catching yourself on a daily basis starting sentences with “Damn kids...” That’s the Boise OG way.
Hope you are getting good gas mileage — Heidi
