Big Balloons
Even though it’s still hotter than Satan’s house cat out there, fall is on its way. Soon we’ll see balloons in the sky brightening our morning commute. Nothing says fall in Boise like hot air balloons. Officially, hot air balloons have been a Boise tradition since 1991 when they gathered for the Boise River Festival. Moment of silence. The Boise River Festival was taken from us but The Spirit of Boise peeps brought balloons back into our lives and have been going strong, this year will be its 31st year. Booyah! I’d love to tell you some random, overly personal stories about me and hot air balloons but the thing is that I am not a morning person… I know, there’s always the Nite Glow, but the other thing is I’m also not really a people person—no offense to any of you… So I’ll continue to enjoy the balloons as I drive my kid to school, wishing I was still in bed. For those of you that are winning at life, making the most out of every minute that this beautiful life has to offer, go enjoy the balloons. May they spark joy in you the same way a good quesadilla does for me.
I’ll leave the big butt innuendo of this week's design alone, even though I probably relate to that part of it more than the balloon—having one—not liking them… l also look forward to explaining this one to people that don’t get it.
Later—Heidi
