Brick Oven Beanery

Whenever I’m out and about selling my Boise OG wares, I meet so many interesting people, some more than others, and I hear some of the best stories, some better than others. One thing I hear a lot about is the food people loved. The bucket of clams from the Crow Inn Tavern, the half a pie and table size portions at Manley’s Cafe, the best burgers at the “Dead Steer,” eating finger steaks off strippers at the Tor... Sadly these are things that I never had the pleasure of experiencing... Another one of those places people like to reminisce about is the Brick Oven Beanery. I hear how good EVERYTHING was there, all made from scratch comfort foods. It blessed Boisean lives for 29 years with its final location being on the Grove where Lucky Fins is now. If you are in the same boat as me, never having been comforted by their “made with love” food, you are in luck! They wrote a cookbook, so you are really only in luck if you can read and cook...

Two Million Meals Later: House Recipes from Boise's Brick Oven Bistro

Whenever I heard adults talking about this restaurant as a kid, I always pictured a brick room filled with Boston Baked Beans, I guess that wasn’t really the case... But maybe a new business concept if anyone wants to invest. Off topic, but does anyone else here ever just think they should just yell “YOLO” and open a Cat Cafe? Asking for a friend...
